Turtlizing EZ Turnouts

I have a broken turnout I want to install a Tortoise on. There is no hole on the throw bar, but that can be remedied. I cannot go down through the center of the turnout with a hole so the switch machine will have to be offset about a half inch or so. The base of the layout is plywood with 1 1/4 inches of foam.

I figure to bring the piano wire up through the layout and have a second piece of wire that attaches to the wire from the switch machine to the throw bar.

Sound about right?

Anyone?

Couldn’t you just make one piece of piano wire in a squared off “Z” shape work?
the switch motor would move the bottom part of the “Z” so that the top part of the “Z” moves in the opposite direction. ??? You would probably have to use a brass tube shaft to pass the wire through the foam and then bend it on either side.

That would be better if I can pull it off. Thanks.
