While we’re on the topic of train-related TV shows, when will the History International Channel find some different documentaries for its Voyages shows?

I mean, for over a year they’ve been showing the same 10 Trains Unlimted episodes:

  • Toy Trains
  • Steam Trains
  • Trans-Canadian Railway
  • When Giants Roamed: the Golden Age of Steam
  • Trains In War
  • Railway Marvels
  • Great Train Disasters
  • Urban Trains
  • Built For Speed
  • The Circus Train

The Trains Unlimited series – released in 1997 – was in my opinion the best railroad-specific documentary series ever made. I believe there were 27 done, in total. Missing from the current TV lineup:

  • Stokin’ the Fire: What Makes Trains Go
  • The Wabash Cannonball
  • Great Railroad Visionaries
  • The New York Central: Water Level Route
  • Power and Speed: Diesel Locomotives
  • Railroad Police: From the Pinkertons to the Present
  • Grand Central
  • Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe

…I’d love to see the: Manhattan Gateway: Penn Station

Have a soft spot for that cathedral like edifice as it once was…

I watched the show last night in HD. Good but…

Updating this for those who wanted to see the program but missed it.

It is also broadcast on 5/17 and 5/22.
