1st Merry Christmas to all!..does anyone know of any scheduled TV shows that show trains…both real and model?..Every once in a while i’ll stumble on a show in the History Channel or Discovery…Maybe people can pass along info here so we don’t miss any good one’s…I live in Boston area so i’m on Easter standard time…Thank to all Tom

If you have Dish Network or Direct TV, there is a channel called RFD-TV that features two one-hour train shows each week – one called Trains and Locomotives, which features different steam engines around the country that are still operating, and the second is called O-Gauge Railroading, and features O-scale layouts around the country. Christmas day’s O-Gauge program is 100 Years of Lionel Trains.
DIY (Do It Yourself Network) has a model railroading show now and often feature model railroading on “Radio Controlled Hobbies” that airs a couple times every weekend.

Have seen that a few times, back to back for a few weeks until all the shows are gone.
Have found other train related stuff on our PBS in Peoria, History Channel, and Travel Channel have had stuff too.
Saw Northlandz 2-3 weeks ago. Story about millionare and the huge building and exhibition, trains.
Always is catch as can.
Shoot, reruns of the Wild Wild West. Almost every epesode had a shots of the 1860’s train they rode in. Also, there are shows on PBS about excersion railroads that was/is on once a week and was shot or sponsored by Kalmbach(?). Modern marvels had an episode that featured today’s trains. Another featured the begining of trains. But by far the best thing is to get off the couch and go get in the car and go see them and the towns they go through in person. The TV can’t convay the real feel for the real thing. Most people complain when a train stops them at the crossing. I love it and will actually speed down the road to the next crossing to see and do it again. FRED
