First I see the BOBBER has not sunk yet! A new one has appered in 1/20" scale. JUST ANOTHER BOBBER only bigger and it cost big$$.
Second because there “cute” two bay hopper’s at a list price of 3 for $1200. Gee all I asked last year was were I could find MDC two bay hopper’s .
So i guess if we wait long enough AMS will build it.

I just say, have you actually SEEN the Accucraft Waycar model? I dont mean in the magazines, I mean up close in your hands kinda seen it?
I have, and WOW is it detailed! This isnt any Big Hauler toytrain, its a museum level model, I swear it looks like if I turn the brake wheel the brakes will tighten. So Yes, yet another Bobber, but…Given the only other Waycar type model is Bachmanns, very old and detail light 1/22.5 offering…
A: its a proto-scale 1/20.3 model based on a real car, other than the other Accu Bobber there are no 1/20 brass bobbers out there, yes some wood kits but no brass cars.
B: Its all brass, very high quality. no plastic.
So, if your a scale mad foaming 1/20.3 modeler with a trust fund, this is definetly your car!
As for the EBT hoppers, Bachmanns Spectrum 3 bay hoppers can apparently be kitbashed into 2 bay hopper cars relativley easily, saving a bucket load of cash in the process.
The only hopper on the market that comes close to that price is Rich Yoder’s brass EBT 3-bay hopper, priced at $400 each. Bachmann’s plastic 2-bay hopper has a street price around $90, and Accucraft’s upcoming 3-bay hopper is expected to hit around $100. If your local shop wants to sell you three 2-bay hoppers for $1200, tell you what. Send me the $1200 instead. I’ll buy 12 Bachmann hoppers, and I’ll send you 3 of 'em. Heck, I’ll even throw in a 4th, just because I like you. What a deal!!! [oX)] I’ve also got this really cool bridge…
What we’re lacking at the moment is an inexpensive long caboose. Doesn’t have to be D&RGW style, though that always sells, but something with some length to it.

Oops! I forgot about those new 2 bays coming out, my comment about bashing 3 bays into 2 bays was using Bachmanns older 3 bay model thats been around for a while.

Dont beleive me? go find one of these and turn it over and just look at the brake details. The Accu is way better detailed, waaaaaaaay better. To make a Bmann look as good you’d have to spend as much is Ozark and Trackside Details parts that you might as well just buy the Accu. Comparing the Bmann caboose to the Accu is like comparing a Scientific Toy Train locomotive to a Accucraft C-16. Yes, theres that level of difference in detail. I’ve seen both of these and have kitbashed both the Bachmann and Buddy-L clone bobbers.
Keep in mind, the Accu is not being marketed at regular joes, its being marketed at the 1/20.3 scale fanatic guys with deep pockets who want thier rolling stock to look as good as their $3K locomotive. I’ll never buy one of these as they are $250+ , I’ll use my Buddy-L which I am bashing into my version of this very car, will it work for me? Sure thing! Will it stand up side by side with the Accucraft model? Not a chance!!! But dam - they’re nice to look at!

Here is a bachmann loggin caboose I did just that to. I removed the raised roof and replaced it with a flat section and blended it all together. It came out exactly like I wanted. Vic is right though. The Accucraft heavily outweighs the Bachmann (and most anything else) for detail. I still think mine came out great for a total outlay including shipping for 12 bucks.
