Found this picture, and others from the same scene. http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2336980720098197393cbNHhH It depicts a second PC Turbo. The others show at least three engines, so logically the fourth is there as well. I’m nly familiar with the one Turbo that came to America, that was DOT, then Amtrak. But what is this second one, and what was it’s history?
I think the one’s you are calling the “second” are actually the first…see the new book TURBOTRAIN: A Journey by Jason Shron for complete details of the UA Turbos which both NH/PC and Atrack had in the U.S. and CN and VIA Rail had in Canada in the late 60’s and early 70’s. The one’s you are referring to as first were Rhohr (SP?) from France and were brought in by Amtrak.
First Generation Turbotrain is the UA (sikorski) version, 2 trains were built for DOT.

Second Generation was ANF-Frangeco Turboliner made in France.
Third Generation was the Rohr(california) built Turboliner based on imported ANF units.
