Two Stall Engine House ( Dec 2012 )

After looking at the drawing’s for the Dec 2012 issue ( on-line ) My wife and I desided that would be a good winter project. ( Can’t Play in the rain ) Anyone have any thoughts about how to build this 15 inch x 42,5 inch plus shed ? any help would be gladly accepted.

After reviewing the drawing’s this project is being put on hold till ver 10 is completed ( Trains running ) .

I haven’t received the Dec issue yet so can’t comment on the drawings. I do plan to build a three or four stall engine house this winter with a turn-table in front of it. I just finished building the “table” using an arched type construction method. I’ll post pictures of the build once I get the track laid.

What is “ver 10”?

  1. Thats the next issue, the drawing are in the subscriber extras section ( above ). This look’s like it could be modified by making the back wall’s wider.

  2. Ver 10 is my current rebuild of the Delta Northern ( My RR ).

Thanks for the info on the drawing location. I’ve down loaded and studied it. Unfortunately its not for me. Mine will be a round house that I can expand as I have more engines to store. I think I’ll be running the roof the other way and making it removable so I can get to the power switches and charging jacks. I’m battery powered. Also I’m rural old west without a brick supply (yet) so none of my buildings have any brick on them. That could change of course. Right now I’m going with exterior frame beam type construction.

I hadn’t thought of doing railroad versions. I do something different each year so I guess those could be versions. A next version for me is adding a new building or two from the winter building season and then rearranging everything to integrate the new structures.

there is a down load in garden railways of a 2 stall engine house im working on it would look great on your layout westy

Ver. 10 update: haven’t done much since Oct. I have made list things to do. and I am working a Garden metal models 36 inch bridge w/decking and handrails, having problem with what type of glue to use on the sections of decking. I fear that if I don’t attach them the first derail on the bridge will be a disaster.
