Early information on a U.P. derailment in the desert in California…
I drove by Mecca just yesterday checking out the Sunset Route two-tracking project. If I had known there was going to be a train wreck, I would have stayed around for the action!
All the trains were just crawling through the desert all day before the wreck. I don’t know if there were a bunch of slow orders in effect or not.
In the past, on the line in question, one could pace a train at 70 M.P.H. for 50 minutes. It was a fantastic train chasing playground!
Have fun–personally, I think I’ll opt out of the “hovering acid cloud” as reported on CNN! [;)]
