Unable to Edit Profile

When I got to edit my profile, I get what looks like programing language, and I can not make changes. Am I doing something wrong? I subscribe to both Model Railroader and Classic Trains.

Go to the TRAINS forum, and then change your profile and avatar from there. The older program seems to work better.

ROAR

Trains.com must have gone to low bid with this software change. Probably the worst I can remember. Too bad, but thes forums are free.

Rich

I have the same problem when I go to the forum at Trains magazine and try to edit my profile. Anyone else have the same issue?

Victor,

If You are on a PC…On the right side of Your screen You should see Your Avatar and screen name, right below that is Manage Profile, click that and Trains.com will show right top of screen will be Edit profile click that and make Your changes and click Save Profile. There will also on the left under Your Avatar a paper clip, if You click on that You can change Your Avatar.

MR’s system is most compatible with a Chrome browser. At least in My experience.

Hope that helps.

Frank:

Thanks but that is exactly what I’ve been doing and I still can not edit it.

I just went to the manage profile and settings tabs and it appears that I can change anything I want. I’m just using internet explorer. Maybe it doesn’t like the chrome thing you’re using.

Victor,

I would give CS a call. Sounds like You have a compatibility issue. Could be a few things. Java may not be up to date on Your system. They up-dated a couple months ago. I was having some issues with Firefox and Java with them, found out it was not me…it was them. After they up dated I went back to Chrome, now everything works like it should. I would call them, they usually can tell you what to do:

Victor, when you are on the page showing only programming language, look up at your address bar.

What appears before cs.trains.com?

Does it read view-source ?

Rich

Rich:

It has http:// before CS.Trains.com Of course, there is a little silhouette of the front of a locomotive first.

I’m using Internet Explorer.

Victor

Don’t Toss your Cookies! That is maybe you need to have cookies eneabled.

ROAR

Victor,

The Lion is correct and it should read cs.trains.com/members/screenname/default.aspx

Take Care!

Frank

Edit: You can also log-out, log backin and on the right of Your screen it will say, Having troubles logging in? Beneath that You will see cookies enabled, click on that and a compatibility test with Your browser will show up and it should tell you what is wrong. Should have all green dots next to everything.
