Hello,
Can some of you tell me of your experiences with Uncle Dave’s Brass. I recently spoke with them over email and placed an order through the mail. After I sent the check, I haven’t heard back from them…they blocked my emails and thier phone numbers are constantly busy. So, obviously I’m a little concerned about getting my brass items.
Regards,
I’ve bought several pieces from him over the years and never had a problem with him in any way. I wouldn’t worry about it personally, he runs a rather bizarre schedule sometimes with the train shows he attends and he’s pretty much a “one man band” sometimes.
Otherwise he’s A-OK in my book…

I have purchased from him as well and had no issues. This was a couple of years back, but he was really good about communication and customer service. I hope nothing has changed since then.
I receive emails from John about every two months with a promotion of some kind, so he is at least alive and kicking. My Sunset Selkirk order lies with him, plus 10% deposit.

Gurdak is a good guy…not to worry!

thanks guys, he got back with me.
Unfortunately, he doesn’t seem to be very responsive. I e-mailed him regarding a purchase on April 3, 2011 and have not gotten any response (this after trying all of the phone numbers listed on his web site).
I sent another e-mail on May 3, 2011 and still have not heard back. I just tried calling each of the numbers on his web site today and the order number just rings busy, which is what it has done each and every time I have called. The other numbers just go to voice mail.
Seems like an odd way to run a business - no response in over a month?
I, also would not rate him highly on responsiveness. He has not returned some of my email inquiries. However, he doesn’t have a bad reputation, so I continue to leave my one brass order with him.

I gave up and just ordered from Sunset models directly.
