uncoupling magnets

I,m building ho layout using unitrak. Any advice on uncoupling magnets, the standard ones do not fit.

Could you be a bit more specific?

If you’re using code 83 track, you will have to reduce the thickness of the ties where you mount the magnet. Your best bet is to get a Kadee coupler guage which will also show you the correct height for mounting the magnets. Kadee also sells a magnet gauge separatley for $2.75.

Bachmann sells magnets for their version of that type of track. Goes under the roadbed.
Someone on another forum said they had good luck with these cylinder magnets.

They used the 1/8"x3/16" ones. They drilled an 1/8" hole between the ties and glued one of them next to each rail. They said it worked really good and was cheap.

Thanks for the info.
