Hello!
I’m just wondering if you can use the under the table switch machines with the Atlas customline mark 3 turnouts?
Happy Railroading!!!
Jeff
Sure can, either the Atlas ones, or the Tortoise, or one of many others.

I used the Tortoise with my mark3 turnouts and they work well.
Thank you for the replies.

What’s that switch machine you see in the Aristocraft Micro-Mark ads? Looks like a cylinder mounted on a tangent under the roadbed. Anyone using those?
It’s called the Switch Tender. Looks impressive.
Tony’s Train Exchange (I think it was) did not think so. They panned it as having many unfavourable qualities/deficiencies compared to the good ol’ Tortoise.
Put simply; It costs as much as a Tortoise, it has a more difficult mounting system, it has no contacts to switch frog power and/or signals, and it requires a resistor to keep the stall current down. Seems no reason at all to choose it over a Tortoise.
