Be nice to know where the pic was taken.
Hey I’m actually looking to model this train. What is the arangement of the cars?
I have a birthday in October. For my birthday I would love to see the No. 844 when it comes to Marshall, Texas in October.
I just hope she get’s an overhaul next year, all this travel is hard on her, and the 3985 could use some use. Let’s just keep hoping for next year…
Does anyone know the status of the 3985?
Come on over to McCormick/Stillman Railroad Park in Scottsdale,AZ and visit the Model Railroad Building.
I run the 844 on the Paradise and Pacific O-Gauge layout.
Saw 844 in Sparks NV a couple of years ago- she put on a great show leaving town with about 15 matched Armour yellow UP passenger cars. Kudos to UP for keeping her steaming!
What!!! no 844 visit for Fort Worth – a N,S,E and W facility. Big rail yard and maintenance site. Get with it UP.
A reliable source from UP stated that 3985 is going through a MAJOR rebuild and will not see the open rails for another 3-4 years. 844 is in tip-top shape for its travels this summer.
Does anyone know if the UP 844 is returning from Sacramento via the Feather River Canyon?

It is so interesting. When railroads want to celebrate something they bring out a steam engine instead of a diesel. Since steam represents railroads maybe they should retire diesels and go back to REAL locomotives.
It would be nice if they went from Sacramento to Marshall via Tehachapi, but since they have three weeks, I bet they go home to Cheyenne.
