Since the steerable trucks are state of the art, how come union pacific and cn rail use the last generation bolsteruse or transfer trucks on their GE-9
That is a great question; it is one I have asked many times, but never got a solid answer. UP did have 3 AC4400CWs with the steerable trucks, but they were removed and the regular trucks installed.
I would be interested to hear an ‘official’ reason that they were removed and no more were ordered.
