KCS has a lot more than its foot into Mexico. It has acquired a large, if not full, interest in what is now known as Kansas City de Mexico. It uses UP trackage rights to gain access from Victoria to Robstown, TX, where it connects to the old TexMex trackage into Laredo. Trains did a nice spread on this recently which shows how KCS serves most of Mexico’s automotive plants and the Port of Lazardo Cardenas. I may not have the spelling correct for the port.
I know KCS has its foot into Mexico. I wonder what happens to them? UP its much larger with more capitol.
Probably some of the containers will have drugs, too.
The benefits of free trade and NAFTA.
wow. more containers from mexico for the cartels
Maybe KCS and BNSF can collaborate on a competing service.

You could thank Bill Clinton for pushing NAFTA, Susan. (I was deeply disappointed with Bill) Ross Perot summed it up right. “Jobs left this country with a giant sucking sound” also, as you mentioned, these NAFTA trains became a convenient vehicle for the illicit drug market.
Which terminal out of Chicago would these trains run to and from?
