Does anyone know if this is a routine upgrade or is it an indication of a new role for this line?

It would be interesting to know what speed this upgrade brings the line to.

I don’t know exactly when, but I thought this line was rebuilt to 49 mph standards within the last ten years or so. The Chicago & North Western Historical Society rode this line during its convention in Mason City in 2005. Seems like a lot of work for a line rebuilt relatively recently.
