Union Pacific's Agreement with the State of Texas

In a recent meeting here with the state legilature, the Union Pacific Railroad agreed to relocate almost all rail lines that travelled through heavilly populated urban areas. Unfortunately for my grandfather, who hates trains as much as I love them, Cuero,TX isn’t one such area.

I imagine the cost to do this will be shared among the affected parties. In Lafayette Indiana there used to be three roads with tracks running through town. It was a multi year, multimillion dollar project to move these tracks. I think probably everyone helped to pay for this, the city, county, State, and RR’s… to everyone’s perceived benefit, except the railfan…

Tell me about it, the state must have some Swiss bank account that the taxpayers don’t know about.
