Walther’s is having a sale on the LifeLike A/B sets, and they are too good to pass up, so I looked at all, decided on Lehigh Valley. Most of the paint schemes are dark, not the bold stuff like UP, ATSF, but although I’m mainly into SP, ATSF, I’ve added some UP, and even a FA/FB2 NYC to my locos, and B&O E6A/B, just because I like how they look. There is something about A/B units that just moves me. As a kid, my Lionel diesel was a GE44 ton, bright red, Lehigh Valley, seems it had crossed flags on the side. But these are Cornell Red, I suppose because of Ithaca, NY on one of the Finger Lakes.
A very dark burned brick red, with black stripes, hard to see, needs lots of light just to see the red. But I like FA1/FB1 sets, weight helps. Guess they’ll be a short line with trackage rights in my fantasy SP, stand ins for the F7A/B units in BlackWidow paint.
