Unsolder track?

Ok, so I was just a little distracted doing some detailed track work - Guess I shouldn’t have the hockey game on at the same time - but I transposed 2 pieces of the five I was working on. Is there anyway to un do this? One is from a turnout and the other wound up on a cross over. If it was just flex or sectional track I wouldn’t worry but these a little pricey not to try.

Thanks

PS - We won in overtime!!!

Depending on how you did things, it might not be too bad. Get a joiner hot, and then push it to one side or the other (onto the non special track, given the choice). you might lose a tie or two to the process. Then do the some to the other joiner. you should be able to pop it right out. If that won’t do the trick, you might get the job done with a solder sucker, or some solder wick, to drawn the solder out of the joint.

Thanks for the fast reply Jeff. I wound up just cutting the regular track just behind the rail joiner - it’s a longer piece and still usable elsewhere. I gently tugged on the remaining bit of rail while heating with soldering iron. It pulled out of the joiner without too much effort. I had to do this 4 times. Only cost me about a 1/4" on each end and the rail joiners where still usable on the “better” pieces of track after a little dressing up.

Lesson learned - SLOW DOWN and pay attention!! AT least I’m laying road bed and track!!

Thanks again
