Unusual Baggage style cars

Hello all. I recently saw three very unusal passenger cars stored in the old Southern Rwy Peagrave shop complex in Atlanta. They appear to be some type of baggage cars but I’m almost positive they are not cars built by Pullman, Budd, or ACF. Can anyone provide some information on these cars, such as who made them, what type are they, who owns them, and what are they doing in Peagrave. Thanks much! (I have pics but can’t figure out how to post them on this forum!)

The usual recommendation for pictures is to sign on a photo service such as photobucket or flickr and link to it there. I’ve just started with flickr a few days ago, and am still feeling my way around. What seems to work for me is, after the pictures are uploaded, view the picture, then do a “copy” of the “http:…” line at the top of the screen, then paste that as a link in your post. I’m a computer novice, so I may not have described the procedure in the correct terms, but if you want to experiment, the “Forum Testing” section at the bottom of the forums is handy.

There are instructions someplace around here on how to upload pictures…I presume they are digital.

But can you describe them? length, door alignments and locations, type of truck–passenger, freight, two or three axels, color, markings, end doors or none? How closed did you or can you get to read the castings on the wheels, trucks, beams and elsewhere, stenciling for brakes and other appliences. Is the circus in town? Strates show? other traveling show of some kind? railroad or private name and numbers on the sides? placards?

The link is to a Thread that appeared on this FORUM in December of 2009:

Abandoned Amtrak Car in Abandoned Atlanta Building:

It may have the information that would help you corroberate you sightings in the old Shop Building in the Atlanta area.

On that link are a couple of additional links. The first one is a photograph of an AMTRAK passenger coach #3228 William A. Griffith,Jr.

The second link is to a sort of hip hop video apparently filmed in the building. If you look closely in the latter part of the video you’ll see in the back ground a string of three AMTRAK cars. you have to look closely at the video to catch them.

Sam, I checked in Railway Passenger Car Annual Volume 1 1973-1974, and confirmed the thought I had when I looked at the link: the car is not a coach, but a 6 dbr buffet lounge, originally RF&P
