Pssst, I think you mean 1987.
Wouldn’t it be 1989? That’s why 1988 has already come out, they’re doing them in order. All I know is what UP tells me.
Nope, it’s 1989…UP has stated already
I get to see it!!! im gonna find public land somewhere near where it is happening even if i need binoculars to see it!!!
Well I thought they were to be numberd for the year the RR was merged. The year DRGW bought the SP was 1987. Go figure.
Maybe you oughta take a look over here:

Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad
Denver & Rio Grande incorporated in 1870 to build south from Denver as 3-foot-gauge. D&RG leased the affiliated standard-gauge Rio Grande Western, building southeast from Salt Lake City, in 1882. Dotsero Cutoff opened in 1934, forming connection with Denver & Salt Lake; D&SL merged on April 11, 1947. Denver & Rio Grande Western was acquired by Philip Anschutz in 1984. On August 9, 1988, Anschutz bought Southern Pacific and adopted that name as the operating label for the combined system.
Sounds to me like it was in 1988, but they already have a unit numbered that, so like the 1983 they went to the next year.
Darn CRS strikes again. I could have sworn it was 87’. I stand corrected. Now off to edit another thread where I stated 87’ as the year.
Here’s a little more updated:
UP 001989 HORICON WI 06 08 0605 E Junction Received WSOR
C’mon out here and get a Buffalo Steak and a barley pop at the Buckhorn Exchange and watch it sit at Burnham Shop when it gets here. Maybe next to the ex-Alco B-unit/Power car on EMD trucks?
Which route will it take?
All I can say is it will be having it’s own movement reportly.
Aghh. I hate how UP is being so secretive about the Heritage Series.
I heard it’s headed via WSOR to Milwaukee for interchange to UP.
It has silver trucks and fuel tank - do you suppose they did a passenger scheme?
All the Heritage units have silver trucks and fuel tank. But a D&RGW passenger scheme would be sweet.
hmmm do I wanna drive 600 miles to see her? This requires lots of thought [:P]
What?

You have to think about it. [?] [%-)]

It will probably be some Frankensteinish combination of the last freight scheme and the passenger scheme.
