When does the UP start it’s 2006 Concrete tie replacement this year on the Boone Sub? Allan.
Don’t they usually like to wait until the hot summer months, when the replacement rails are expanded naturally, thereby avoiding potential heat kinks?
Don’t know about the Boone Sub. Concrete on #1 track on the Columbus Sub. is supposed to be underway. A concrete switch gang was supposed to begin working at North Bend on April 1. Several concrete gangs should be on the Columbus Sub. in May.
We’re also getting more concrete on the Geneva Sub later this year, probably around October. I think that after the '07 season, Track 1 will be concrete-tied the entire distance from Clinton to Elburn.
