Went to see the 844 yesterday in both Palestine and Overton, TX and have to say it was a great experience. Got to Palestine really early around 6:00 just to check out the big steam engine resting before it’s departure at 8:00 a.m. Took many pictures and then followed it on the way to Overton where it made a whistle stop of some 20-25 minutes or so. Fantastic audience at Overton where combined with kids from nearby schools, there had to be at least a 750 to a 1,000 people in attendance.
