UP and MKT boxcars by athearn question

Hi

I am considering the Athearn HO boxcars of the UP [ath70134 series 125906] built in 1957 type XM this boxcar has no walkway on roof is brown with lettering/numbering in white and slogan ‘ship and travel the automated rail way’ and a large UP herald .Is this boxcar correct for colour and numbering ?in which time period is this boxcar prototopical for UP ?

The other one is Athearn boxcar MTK [ath70873 series 45155] built in 1948 this double doors boxcar is in yellow paint scheme and has a slogan ‘The Katy’ serves well the all of the southwest. Is this item correct for colour and numbering ? In which time period is this boxcar prototopical for ?

Thanks very much for your reply

The UP boxcar would be appropriate for post-1966 since the railroads were removing roof walks from boxcars built prior to 1966.

It says “Katy serves the Southwest well”. For years , we’ve all been trying to find the southwest well.

But seriously folks, the car is correct for the 1940’s-50’s time period. Many of Katy’s cars, especially those used in special or passenger service, were painted “Sloan Yellow”.
