I going to paint some modern locomotives in UP colors. I have looked at both of this Floquil paints and neither on seems to match the color used on the locomotive that I purchased in UP scheme. Anyone have any suggestions? I want to come close to the color of an Athearn SD70MAC
Seem’s like you are assuming,that the Athearn UP color is the correct one,it very well might be the other way around,it’s hard to match factory painted models,unless of course you have their paint and mixing formulas…Even they will produce some models with variations,or shades of their original production model…In our case,some times close enough is good enough…Unless it is a really different shade…

Between sun, weather, and time, unless they are freshly painted, even prototype locomotives will look like slightly different shades.
