We started in Yermo,CA next to the old Truck Weight station near the Yermo BLvd. We chase the train a couple of miles. If you notice the locomotive power you have 5 locomotives. One of the units is a CN and two F-40 Metrolink units plus to UP locomotive. Allot of power. Stuart and myself we waited a couple of hours chasing this train from Barstow Yard thru Dagget. It was held back a few hours in Yermo Yard hub. Sorry for the wind distortion. I am working on to removed the wind noise.

I think the two F-40 were going to get repair…
the Metrolink units are EMD F59PH’s, not F40’s. Metrolink has one F40PH and that is #800, the only such unit operated by the railroad. They did have a quartet of former Amtrak F40PH’s which were to be core units for an aborted rebuild program though one unit was eventually placed in service as-is.

Good to know, I thought they were FP40’s. I read it before they bought it from Amtrak

BNSF going west to LA passing thru Daggett at a fast speed. In the middle of the desert of no where land.
Awesome Video! I’m very new to trains, so am i guessing that there are five locomotives becouse it gives more power, right? but cool video! [:)]
It was coming from California so, they need the horsepower thru the mountains. It was going 70mph when we started to chase the train.
