Note the trip is on the conventional and historic LA&SL route, EXCEPT: on the former 1967 SPT-built West Colton- Palmdale cut-off from WC to Silverwood (‘bout 3/4 mi. west of Summit).
Hate to have some set up on the wrong Rail’
Be safe out there, wear high top boots, bring water, drive only on sand with gravelly rock showing on its surface, likewise don’t park on straight sand.
Use skill…carry good luck, it won’t be a burden.

I will be on a two week train watching vacation from England and travelling from Denver to Rawlins on May 7th. I’ve got my map out and should make Medicine Bow or somewhere between there and Laramie. A nice bonus!

I’d love to be in Green River when it arrives. That’s the place I last saw a Big Boy, but that time it was under steam and parked under the coaling tower, loading up.
