Not so fast. UP and CalTrans have been doing a commendable job of reopening their facilities pretty quickly. As I type, ATCSMon shows that trains are moving over the Roseville sub and Interstate 80 is open over the summit (chains / snow tires required of course).
Reportedly we got over eight Feet of snow last night! Reservoirs in NorCal are pretty full, which is actually bad timing since water has to be released to the ocean; we need it to percolate back into long depleted aquifers.
