Here’s a copy of the press release from UP regarding the special photo op using all the UP Heritage locomotives in Salt Lake City on June 30 (I left off the press contact phone numbers by request)…
Union Pacific Gathers Heritage Locomotives for “Class Photo”
What: Union Pacific has created six specially painted locomotives over the last two years to commemorate the heritage of railroads that have become part of the Union Pacific system. These “Heritage” locomotives, representing the Missouri Pacific, Western Pacific, Katy, Denver & Rio Grande, Chicago & North Western and Southern Pacific railroads, will be assembled as a group for the first time at Union Pacific’s intermodal facility in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Who: Salt Lake City-area media outlets are invited to attend this unusual gathering of locomotives for the first of its kind “class photo.” Media outlets should contact James Barnes at the above telephone number to pre-register. Non-media photographers who wish to gain access to the intermodal facility must submit their name and date-of-birth (for security purposes) via e-mail to BrendaMainwaring@up.com by June 27. If necessary, Union Pacific may limit the number of passes granted to non-media photographers.
When: Saturday, June 30, 2007, Noon until 2 p.m. MDT.

O…M…G…
That is AWESOME!! And on my weeekend off!! Well it looks like I know were I am going on the 30th! [:P]
Don’t forget to register, or you may be disappointed.
They should have held it at Proviso, where the SD70ACEs all come for their every-so-often fix or upgrade. But I guess they want to showcase their new facility out there.
Well that’s pretty cool. I look foward to seeing those pics for sure.
That sure will be a site to see. Too bad time, distance, and work won’t allow it to be possible for me.
I am surprised they won’t have the 4141 Bush unit there. I think the ultimate photo op would be a photo spread of the the whole heritage fleet and specially painted units. The 3985, 844, 6936, the E9s, 4141, 1982, 1983, 1988, 1989, 1995, 1996, 3300 (united way), the Salt lake city olympic units 2001/2002, and the other locos I missed (two fo three).
Photos will have to suffice because the UP management will never allow the Heritage SD70ACe units to run through on the CN or the NS.

UPDATE!!! I am on the list!!! WOOO!!!
[:(] As Homer Simpson would say…Doooohhhhhhhhh…darned, I will need to miss it. [censored]
Too bad they can’t run them all through Iowa or something…that’s the only way I could see them (I have yet to see any UP Heritage loco). Sounds like a big deal, though. I can’t wait to see the pictures from the event!
I’m somewhat dissapointed that they didn’t do this in Omaha, similar to how the first two were revealed. Now that probably has a lot to do with the fact that my Dad is a UP employee and would then be able to get me into this stuff, but that still dissapoints me[:o)][:D][:I].
I think the reasons for it are because Salt Lake is kind of in the middle of everywhere the heritage fleet is running so its easier to get them to a central location. and Omaha, Denver, Chicago, Rosevlle and so on already had the unveilings, Salt Lake didn’t have anything and they are again, in the center of everything. So people like me, have a chance to go to one.
