UP Heritage units:

Notice that UP 1988 (Katy) and UP 1989 (Rio Grande) have been in Bailey Yard at North Platte for about a month. Then UP 1996 (SP) showed up about two weeks ago. Then UP 1995 (C&NW) about a week ago, and as of Tuesday, UP 1983 (WP) showed up. Right after lunch today, I noticed that all five units are now lined up together right outside of the maintenance shop like they are getting ready to go somewhere. Anyone have any information as to what is going on with these units?

Plus UP 4141 was in storage in North Little Rock, but where is UP 1982 (MP)?

Just wondering.

1988, 1989, 1995, 1996, and 1983 are there for North Platte’s annual Railfest. I believe E-9 949 is also there for the same reason.

1982 is in Colton California at the moment. She’s doing what an ACe does best.
