UP layoffs begin in Omaha
This is probably something you won’t see happen at BNSF(at least with unionized employees), no shareholders to answer to, and I think one of Warren’s philosophies is to always be prepared for that rebound or unexpected increase in business…at least that would be the smart play, but not a single US company that I’m aware of even thinks ahead that far.
I wonder just how many of the ‘new’ hires from the military, that the UP has advertised as hiring, are among those being laid off?
