Any reports about stabilization of the lan 2 ,ile wide landslide no small item.odslide ? Any Pictures ? Is the whole route in peril due to the heavy rains ? Had a Landslide that although not on UP was at Colltran and much bigger than the landslide at OSO in Washington state… Heavy rains might have contributed ? This latest landslide Location south of I-70 between Grand Junction and Glenwood Springs.
It doesn’t look to be close to the what was the D&RGW main line or even the original D&RG line by the Gunnison.

Here is a linked ( Geology Blog site) that has a description of the slide and its dynamics;, as it created a mud slide that is something like 250’ deep, 2 miles wide as it moved approximately 4 miles.

The latter site has a map showing highways in the area of the slide.
It actually is in Gore Canyon, west of the Moffat Tunnel on the original D,NW&P. Here is the Newswire link. They don’t like for us to post the text becasue it is only supposed to be for magazine subscribers, but it talks about how the CZ is detouring on the original UP from SLC to Denver. Sounds like a bad slide.
