Just another day in the life of an engineer…it could have been my brother in law, or Bigfoot is a rail fan.
Wasn’t there a person from Blair who used to haunt…I mean, participate in this Forum?

A while back there was a post by a person about alies haunting a C&O train crew. Now a bigfoot is spotted by a seemingly honest(and helpless, besides their big ol’ locomotive) UP train crew! Things are getting pretty creepy around this place… … … [alien] [:O] [alien][alien][:O]
All the exciting things happen when I’m on the wrong end of the road.[sigh]
I saw something about this on another forum, but I haven’t heard anything about it from our crews, maybe they were out of North Platte.

Though unfortunately I don’t believe there are any any furry bipedal primates native to North America (well, maybe ZZ top!) it is interesting to note that some of the late 19th early 20th century reports of such mythical critters came from train crews on the Western Canadian railroads…
Some of these undoubtedly are hoaxes but, IMHO, many are honest folks misidentifying something, certainly an easy thing to do…
Watch the USGS video of the grizzly bear scratching / rubbing its back on a tree that I linked over in the “Humor” thread (as well as below, for your convenient reference). You’ll see how easy it would be to take something like that for a “Bigfoot”, esp. in poor light, from a moving train, in less-than-optimum viewing and weather conditions, etc.

For those of you who like wildlife - here’s a link to a short and funny video from the USGS Northern Divide Grizzly Bear Project, taken by a “critter cam” = controlled by motion detecting sensor. My daughter forwarded it to me as she received it under the intriguing (but misleading) caption of “poledancer”. This bear is better than most people - don’t worry, it’s not offensive in any way. The version she sent to me had a disco music track, but I don’t know how to post a link to that one here (yet). Anyway, enjoy !

A question comes to mind. When the crew reached their final terminal, do you suppose they were asked to blow into a little tube and fill up a little bottle?
