Wow, two in one day. Apparently last night (Thursday 1/21), a UP stack train hit the ground about 50 miles east of Yuma. I don’t know too much more than what was a blurb on last night’s newscast on Fox 10 here in Phoenix, and a larger blurb in a Tucson paper (link below). Nobody was hurt.

I notice that Yuma has been getting deluged. Can’t help but wonder if all that rain might have softened the roadbed. I know it’s not supposed to, but rainfall in that area is usually measured in hundredths of an inch.
The one good part - no injuries.
