This AM Fox News reported [with some film] that there was a rear end collision at Texarkana, Tx this morning about 8 am…The film showed a fire resulted from the explosion of a fuel storage tank along the r.o.w. area. There were no details as to crew injuries. Only that a freight origined in Chicago had rear-ended another train at that location. Anyone have further details?
Propylene, not vinyl acetate – although there may have been some vinyl acetate residue in one of the other cars. Still makes a h___ of a blaze. But at least it (propylene) isn’t toxic (well, no more than any smoke) unlike vinyl acetate.
Everyone seems to have done a very good job so far – except for the collision itself. And be thankful there that from I’ve heard no one got hurt.
