UPDATE: NCE Smart Booster in stock!

I just found out that the NCE Smart Booster is now available. Anyone interested, Tim Smith @ Empire Northern Models has them in stock for a decent price. Tim also has the NCE DB3 Booster listed but I don’t know for sure if it is in stock, as well.

Now, if my Stewart NYC “Cat Whisker” FTs would just come in…[sigh]

Tom

TOM: there’re on their way…just hang in there a little longer…BTW, how are the cats? We miss your updates in the CS!!

I guess because I’ve never posted there. Dick, are you thinking of Mr. White, per chance…? [:)]

Tom

Is there any documentation available on the smart booster on the NCE website? I can seem to locate anything about it.
Jim

Jim,

The last time I checked, no. Tony’s Train Exchange has a small blurb on their web site but no documentation. Perhaps a good question for Larry @ NCE.

Tom

I ordered and payed for one in July, along with a power supply. Now maybe the little woman will see the extra controller in use and substantiated.

I can’t wait to see three operators at the same time on my layout, even if they are just kids.

I just wanted to update you all on what I was able to find out about the Smart Booster from Tim Smith @ Empire Northern Models. I asked him the following:

Tim’s response: “No, if fact you don’t need a PowerCab to use it, a Procab will work as well.”

So, it appears that the Smart Booster not only ups the total output of the Power Cab to 3A, it also turns it into a true “non-tethered” walk around throttle. That’s is pretty sweet! [:)][tup]

Tom

Don’t forget your facia panels or you can walk all you want and have nowhere to plug in. Its the mistake I made when I added a walk around throttle to my system.
