Here are a couple of videos updating progress on the brass United Sierra 2-6-6-2 I bought on line recently.
The first video is the mechanism mounted on my ‘test stand’. It had some mechanical issues I had to deal with to get the mechanism to work properly. Still a little bit of hitch in its get along, but it is running pretty well now.
The second video is of a short test run of the locomotive on the layout. One of the reasons I bought this locomotive was it was already nicely painted, so I would not have to do that. Astute observers will note the lead and trailing trucks have not been attached yet.
