I think Dayton makes perfect sense. The DME has been ram rodding for eight years now and I for one am just sickened at the thought of lower electricity rates. Besides - if Rochester gets an upgraded rail line what next? If we don’t stand up now then other railroads might think they can upgrade their line too. We just can’t have that. Pretty soon the Wisconsin and Southern is going to start thinking they can replace their 1930’s rail with something new and that just pisses me off. Next they’ll want to grow their business and run more trains on the line and I won’t stand for that either. I am going to go stand in the corner and sulk for a while now. [:(!][:D][8D]
I seems to me that Mark Dayton is the ARROGANT one here. Not too long ago he said that the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota is worth more than the entire state of South Dakota. I don’t think so. The medical industry/community in Sioux Falls, South Dakota has grown to the point were a lot of people in this area feel that it is no longer necessary to make a trip to Rochester for their medical needs.
And leave it to democrats to whine and complain, they never offer constructive solutions to anything. I think Mark Dayton should shut his mouth and keep it shut.

This whole debat between the DME and Rochester, Mayo clinic would be different if something constructive WAS being offered by Rochester-Mayo, but nothing like that has happened. It’s just a mud slinging war.

The main issue here is Rochester is afarid that their cash cow namely all the Hotel and meals that the paitents of Mayo buy may dry up also if the RR can build. They say we will only neogotiate in secret that way we can never have it come out in a court of law. The RR has said please give us a counter proposal and yet the city s quiet on this.
