uploading

How do I upload a picture or two of something I built to show off? Help plz. Thanks in advance.

Hi. You can’t link to personal galleries on your own computer, but you can link to a third party webhost’s gallery that it holds for you.

Places like photobucket or railimages.com will allow you to register and use your own gallery for nothing. Once you upload your images, you must get the url of the full-sized image (not the thumbs that appear when your gallery opens) and paste it in a text box here with the appropriate {img} annd {/img} on the front and back end of the url respectively (but use the square brackets on the same key). When you complete your text and post your message, your image will appear.

Did you check out the thread where you mentioned your Point St. Charles van? There are a couple of posts there about how to do photos.

And as I said in that one, looking forward to seeing some up here soon!

Here is what I and some others use. Join and upload your photos. Make up categories before posting and it will help you keep track of your photos.

There are four options. This is the one you want much of the time.

IMG Code - Forums & Bulletin Boards

Highlight and copy the code and paste in your message.

Good luck.

Yep, I’ve done that and the image appears in my post - but it is huge! And this must be annoying to other posters because it makes the whole page well over the natural width of the computer screen so you need to use that blue slide adjuster to read the text.

I notice that images in other postings have a top bar saying the image has been condensed - does this happen automatically as some point?

Cheers

Bruce

Yes it does this automatically, post away!
