UPRR D/stacker Derails on the GSR

TYRONE, Okla. – Thirty-four intermodal cars of Union Pacific’s stack train KTSKS of the 17th, bound from Long Beach, Calif., to Chicago, derailed near Tyrone on the Golden State Route yesterday about 8:20 p.m., according to UP spokesman John Bromley. The 87-car train, on the Pratt Subdivision of the Wichita Service Unit, part of the former Rock Island (later Southern Pacific), was carrying chemicals, paint, and fireworks. There were no reported injuries and no hazmat concerns. All the derailed cars remained upright. The route is expected to be reopened sometime tonight. Tyrone is 10 miles southwest of Liberal, Kans., in the Oklahoma panhandle.[:(]

humm… chemicals + paint + fireworks + derailment = possible big boom.

Good thing no one was injured.

Yes that is quite correct! [:o)][:D][:p]
