Not the “garage door” is down on the theater car, that means the train is most likely unoccupied. Probably just a deadhead equipment move.

The Inspection Special left Roseville, California this morning and passed through Pinole, CA (MP20.4) on Union Pacific’s Martinez Sub at 11:10 AM, expected into Oakland, CA at about 11:30 AM. UP4033 was on the point, map of the area here:

Train is in Oakland now and may be led by UP3964, they are on radio channel 42-42, south bound on UP’s Niles Sub.

I haven’t seen an inspection train since 2003, with 6936 on the head end, quite a show. I may get a hold of Mark Davis and see when they’re sending one down here.
What Happen to UP E-9 Engines on the Business Train? Don’t they Use Them?

From what I’ve gleaned from various places, the *** Davidson’s special train traveled between Roseville and San Luis Obisbo, CA on the 16th. It spent the night at that Subdivission point.
Today, it is traveling between San Luis Obisbo, CA and Las Vegas, NV where it will spend the night. Tomorrow its Las Vegas, NV to Salt Lake City, UT.

*** Davidson’s Special train is reported at Las Vegas, NV at 6:00 PM and seems to be laid-over.
Tomorrow may bring Salt Lake City.
