I’ve seen some posts mentioning that the GP38-2 has some trouble on 4 foot curves. I have limited space indoors for the time being - how does it do on 6.5 foot curves?
Don’t know about 6.5ft, but it does work fine on 8ft.

Any of the four axle engines like the GP, F-unit, U-boat, etc, will handle down to a 5 foot diameter curve, its the bigger 6 axle units like the SDs or DASH-9 that will bind up on anything smaller than an 8 foot diameter.
My Aristo FA-1 would do 4 foot diameter using hook-n-loop couplers, I suspect this is true for most of the other four axle Aristo engines as they all use more or less the same drive train.
They handle 6 foot curves just fine. That’s what I use on my layout.

GP will go round R1 - 2ft radius (4ft diameter) but is much happier on the LGB R2 or bigger I’d only worry about wear long term if you’ll be always running on R1. The 6 axle units will come off on anything less than R3 4 ft radius.
