USA Trains GP38-2 and GP30 Question

Hello,

One quick question. Will the USA Trains GP38-2 and GP30 negotiate LGB’s R2 Curves?

Thank you,
Sean

I have a gp30 ( 2 axle bogie ) that negotiates 5foot diameter curves okay.

sheridan, thank you for the info. Can you tell me how long the GP30 is in inches?

Sean

They will, but it would be better to have radius 3 or greater.

24" coupler to coupler (KD 820’s)

Thanks Jim.

Sean:

According to USA Trains new catalog, they are listed as 5ft dia. curves.

I see you ask about different diesel locos on different forums. If you have some tight curves as I do on my indoor layouy, you may find your best bet may be use LGB diesels as they will handel the R1 curves and switches and be problem free doing that on a regular basis. For road diesels I located 2 DRGW alcos, that have the look of an SD50? I would rather have some more modern detailed scale Dash 9s or SD70s but there is no way of them running on my layout.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the help. You are right about me asking about different locomotives on other forums. I would love to go with LGB Diesels, but they don’t have any modern stuff. I will definately be getting the LGB AMD-103 and Amfleet Cars when they come out though!

Sean

by the way wut will the usa trains SD70MAC take
8ft?

That’s like asking if the Transporter Room can send you from here to New Yawk.
The unit isn’t even delivered yet.
Claims are one thing, but let’s wait until one shows up.
