Is the Usa Trains sd40-2 any good?

YES, I bought 3 other USA trains engines after buying one of them.
It needs minimum 4 foot radius but it looks great and pulls loads. I did find that I needed to raise the front plow up a bit as it is very low to the rail and sometimes flew off at a dip when it caught the rail. You have an optional section in the plow to allow more swing on the coupler.
It’s isn’t any good…it’s great! Wonderful engine, do not hesitate to buy it. It does need a 4ft radius, but can be made to run on 3ft if need be. It should give you many years of faithful service. Good luck!

I bought two when they came out. Later removed the rubber tires. I now have one that I made as a dumby unit which runs in a coal train lash up.
Almost seems a silly question. Would they make it otherwise?[:D]
