Excellent realism. The scenery makes the train even more remarkable. Thanks for sharing your skills in keeping the hobby going.
Thank you Richard I also have more on you tube of the B&O
As someone who hostled engines for 21 years before becoming a conductor, I can assure you the first thing you would have heard when you got down from the cab would have been “shut off that damn bell and stop honking the damn horn”. The only time you’d need to ring the bell a couple of times would be if machinists were changing brake shoes while the engines were being fueled, and thus moved, or a couple of dings when entering a roundhouse stall. The only time a horn would be blown would be single toots on trailing units when the electricians were testing to see if all engines were loading. One toot for forward and one for back. Likewise, the horn is not blown every time you make a forward or backward switching move, whether radios are in use or not.
Farm tractors were Never loaded in gondola cars. Always on flat cars so they could be driven off at their desitnation.
Too much bell, minimize the bell to avoid irritation and you don’t have to show the whole train go by.
I really enjoyed the layout and watching the PA’s move around the different portions of it. Thanks for sharing.
Love the layout.
Edward, glad to see you made Model Railroader video’s. Nice layout, are you set up for operations?
