WOW!

super detail!!! nice and peaceful setting with birds(?) and all. Were the engineers, conductors and brakemen “on strike?” just sayin’ I didn’t see much RR action. Will it be in part 2? Really a fantastic layout - perhaps some of the bldg. “flats” need more space away from the backdrops but otherwise just about perfect.Nice job!!!

Detailing - very, very impressive. Photography - terrible!!! Lighting - HORRIBLE!!! A real shame that it didn’t give us a real idea of what that pike really looked like.

The layout looks very well done but ther are no trains running. The background yakking is so anoying that I stopped watching.

Spectacular layout that deserves a camera able to focus better.

nice layout, but! there wasn’t any trains moving on the layout. duh?

Great modeling but what else could you expect from Jim Vail! He’s a master at this. I would have liked to see some trains running and the guys not talking through the whole thing. Very annoying!

Must have been filmed when the train crews were on rest. Would have liked to seen the “undec” three truck Shay operating. Surprising how much track narrow gaugers can squeeze in.
As for the people in the “bull shipping” department, tone it down, way down.

While a few are turned off by the background conversations, I couldn’t help but “overhear” someone referencing to Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties, CA. I live in between Salinas and Monterey. Is this beautiful work near me? I’m sure it looks better in person than by whatever took this video. Yeah, trains running would have been good, but I was mesmerized by the scenery work. Well done!

This was a good video…of modeling, except those moments passed too fast. There were no trains…zip, zero, nada…running during the entire thing and whoever thought it would be interesting for everyone to listen to what must have been an “over the back fence” conversation between neighbors about stuf that had nothing to do with the video thought wrong! Give us audio that is meaningful for the audio being taken and it will always be a winner with that kind of modelling skill.

Obviously fantastic workmanship, but I agree with other comments. I want to see and hear trains running, I don’t want to hear 9 minutes of conversation from his friends, and I also want it better lit. Have another go please Jim, and let us really see how good the layout is!

The layout and modeling may be terrific but the video was so poor it’s hard to tell. There was no difference whether viewed at 240p or 780p. The video was very disappointing i the modeling and layout deserve better.

I have to agree with Chris down below. The video should have been Shot without people talking in the background! After a couple of minutes, I simply lost interest and moved on!
