I was given an older NWSL PDT power truck today…with the idea of stuffing it into a plastic East German BR 131/231 diesel by Revell. Anyway, the mounting pin on the truck snapped off when I opened the package. . The stock mounting arrangement, is a small brass nut threaded onto this pin. Sure, I can glue it, but it doesn’t seem to be very sturdy. Has anyone removed this pin, drilled it out, and used a 2-56 screw and nut to hold the PDT onto the locomotive floor? (I know, it would be less hassle to buy one of the newer “Stanton” models, but I try to use up what I have on hand.)
Get a tap and drill set from MIcro Mark and try it. You might try a 1-72 tap and screw if the 2-56 is too large. You can also ask Dave at NWSL for suggestion. He answers email.
For MRR use, I keep 00-90, 0-80, 1-72 and 2-56 taps handy, plus a variety of hardware.

There are times I have used 5 minute two part epoxy for something like this.
