I am currently modifying two Athearn USRA Mikes to UP condition, following the article by Steve Orth in the August 2000 Model Railroader.

I have obtained all the necessary parts except the SP stacks by A. W. Enterprises. I have looked for them on the internet, without success. How can they be contacted, or can their parts be purchased from somewhere else?

Try Precision Scale co. www.precisionscaleco.com They make not only the proper HO SP stacks, but probably just about any other casting you might need for the conversion. I just changed out my Spectrum USRA Heavy Mountain to a reasonable facsimile of an SP MT-2, and used their castings. The prices are quite reasonable,and the castings are of a VERY high order.
