Interesting. You know, up to that time the “City of San Francisco” was the only Southern Pacific train that was ever snowbound in the 20th Century.

Over the years I have seen a lot of clips about that incident - but I have never seen that one. Good Find!

My grandfather was on the last train before Donner pass shut itself down. I remember him saying the crew was very concerned if they would stall then.
