I have an old train set that I won from McDonalds as a prize. It is from 1977 or 1978. You had to collect all the stickers of the 4 railroads. I won that McDonalds train set and have never opened any of the boxes. Can you give me an idea what it is worth? Does anyone have any interest in this set? It is Mint in Box.
Thanks
Karen
Well, we’d be happy to help you out, but you leave us with almost no information to go on about the train itself. What is the manufacturer of the train? What gauge is it? What all does the set contain? Providing a description with the numbers of each of the individual cars would be a big help.
Regarding the Value of your McDonalds train, you might want to consult with someone who is a fast food toy collector. I would imagine that it would have more value to someone who specializes in McDonalds collectables than a model train collector or operator.
Could this be what you’re talking about?

If so, it looks like it’s worth $40.
No guys, this sounds like something more substantial, not happy meal or McDonald trademark stuff. If it was a prize from a Monopoly game, it could be Lionel, or some other major train manufacturer, possibly HO or even G.
We simply need more information. In the Monopoly game they could have given away between 100 and 500 train sets. Something on the order of a $100 - $200 value at the time.
We need the name of the manufacturer, and any other information you can get from the box. A photo would fantastic, but a good description should be enough to identify it.
No, it is not a happy meal toy train. It was from the monopoly game and you had to have all 4 RR to send in for the set. There were only maybe 100 given out. It was a high odds prize. It is a Lionel full train set from the game winner in 1978. It was supposed to have over a $200 value back in 1978, which is 26 years ago. Never opened, still in all its sealed boxes. I will get it out of the attic and get more information about from the boxes. I only thought about it today, after many years of it not crossing my mind, cuz the people at work were eating McDonalds and the prize stickers are back on the sodas now.
