I don’t know if this is the right place to post this question, but here goes… I have managed to come across three Lionel O27 items, as follows: (a) heavy metal 2-4-2 #258 (it weighs a ton), with the shrouded shape reminiscent of NYC’s “Rexall train” engine; (b) tender, “Lionel Lines” #1689T; (c) metal caboose, NYC #1682. Not too knowledgeable about vintage but maybe late 1930’s? These are not for sale, but I’d like some sort of appraisal value. (Gotta justify keeping them out of the grandkids’ hands!) Excellent clean condition. Might run OK, don’t see why not. Any expert(s) out there who can determine a relative value from what I’ve described? Thanks…
Classic Toy Trains forum may be a better place for that info.
